RON CHERNAK WINS IBBA'S TOM WEST AWARD!

November 19, 2013.  The Tom West Award was presented to Ronald V. Chernak, CBI,

M&AMI, Fellow of the IBBA, at the IBBA and M&A Source Fall Conference in Savanna, GA.
 
Ron is the President of The FBB Group, Ltd., (formerly First Business Brokers, Ltd.), located in Colorado Springs, CO.  He is also a principal in Corporate Finance Associates (CFA) Colorado, LLC.  He has served as the Chairman and/or Director of the Board for numerous business brokerage committees and organizations, including as the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA), the premier industry trade association of business intermediaries, and as the former Chairman of the Board of the M&A Source, the country’s largest association of middle market intermediaries.

About the award:  Tom West was one of the founding fathers and the first professional manager of the International Business Brokers Association.  In the late 1990′s, the Board decided to establish an award in his name.  The criteria established for the award is outstanding communication and promotion of the goals and ethics of business brokering.
The award is for enhancing the public image of the business brokerage profession by promotion of the association or profession through any form of communication.
Ron is a long time member and supporter of CABI.

Brasches Win Business in Arts Award!

RON BRASCH AND UNA NG-BRASCH WIN 2013 BUSINESS & ARTS AWARD

Colorado Springs, CO – Ron Brasch and Una Ng-Brasch were recognized as the Business Arts Leaders of the year at the sixth annual Business & Arts Lunch. The lunch, co-presented by the Colorado Springs Regional Business Alliance and COPPeR, the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region, honors businesses and business leaders that support the arts and integrate arts and creativity into their companies.


Ron Brasch is a Merger and Acquisitions Specialist at First Business Brokers, Ltd., and Una Ng-Brasch is a Staff Assistant in the Education Department at Colorado College. Between the two of them, their involvement in the local arts community goes beyond financial giving; it is multifaceted, inspiring support. They have each served on various arts organizations' boards, helping advocate on behalf of the entire arts community. Ron is also an artist; as a poet Ron participates in the Smokebrush Foundation’s Story Project and the Pikes Peak Library District’s Poet Laureate program.

Due to significant, probable changes in the tax law impacting business transfers, we anticipate that 2012 will be a very active year. As a result, we are offering our clients a new service by providing Opinions of Market Value. Although we have historically provided an estimated range of market value for our prospective clients, we have taken it a step further by formalizing the process in response to numerous requests from business owners and their advisors. An Opinion of Market Value is not meant to substitute for a formal business appraisal, but it can be used by management as a benchmark for estimating the value of a business if it were to be sold to a third party acquirer.
